The use of this hashtag helped bring student together from different universities to fight for free and decolonized education. This hashtag made the country aware of what was happening in South African universities, where police brutalized and injured student. During the campaign many messages, videos and pictures have been spread on social media which created attention for students and the whole citizens of South Africa. Most student’s leaders and student’s organization used twitter, Facebook and other platforms to share action and incidents occurred on those days. This hashtag helped not only the students but also journalist and public relations practitioners to gather and cover real stories coming from real participants of the protest.
